- A private hire or hackney carriage driver licence — issued by Buckinghamshire Council or another licensing authority we work with
- A full UK driving licence — normally held for at least twelve months
- The right to work in the UK — we check this before you start
- An enhanced DBS check — required for all drivers, and essential for school transport work
- Good local knowledge — Aylesbury and the surrounding villages

New To The Trade?
If you have never held a badge before, the licensing process is more paperwork than difficulty. Here is the shape of it:
- Check you are eligible Full UK driving licence, right to work, and the minimum age set by your council.
- Apply to the council Buckinghamshire Council handles licensing for the Aylesbury area.
- Book your medical A DVLA Group 2 standard medical from your GP or a licensed provider.
- Complete your DBS check An enhanced check, applied for through the council.
- Sit the required tests Knowledge and safeguarding assessments, depending on your council's current requirements.
- Receive your badge Once approved, your licence and badge are issued.
